Lots of autonomy. The flip-side of that can be uncertainty, even for full-timers. So you need to be proactive!
I did several placements and in each one I was amazed how much I was treated as a full member of the team. And how much I was encouraged to own my learning. The whole place is really full of life-long learners, both professionally and as human beings.
I'm in a 'work-integrated learning' program called Dev Degree - which is amazing, but as you do the internship alongside school, it's also stressful and can be overwhelming
You're not necessarily going to be told what to do - that's part of the learning!!
Awesome. I met so many amazing people - fellow interns, as well as old hands! Shopify makes it really easy to get connected to lots of different people.
Every team is different, but because you are not limited to your own team, like in other companies, you really can find your own 'crowd', no matter what you are into. The office is an inspiring and welcoming space and the people are all really open and supportive.
