What I liked best was the contact with commercial clients and the confidence that our managers and mentors gave use to push ourselves to our limits. Moreover, what I liked was the 80% of all the tasks that we did was determined by the time, skills and determination that we gave. One's CAM internship can be very different to someone's elses. Thats what makes this internship great in my opinion. We learn about ourselves, what tasks or challenges drive us and this gives us an idea of what role we might want to do in the future. Maybe an analyst role or solely the CAM role interests us after our internship, etc. Finally, RBC made sure our internships would not be cancelled and for that I am greatful. We all received great computers and hardware to work with.
What I least liked was exactly RBC's fault. Covid-19 complicated a lot this internship and doing some tasks was sometimes very hard at home. Moreover, not being able to see the whole team was difficult since I had a much harder time joining the team because of that matter.
The office culture was great. Never had I seen a team with that many highly achieving individuals. All were easy to approach and were willing to help me if I had questions. This One RBC culture was very present and I felt like I was in the right place with individuals that reflected my work ethic and my values.
RBC really struck me as a big family that was always there for one another and that pushed the team towards excellence.
If you apply for this internship, ask, ask, ask! Everyone has so much to offer and try to learn as much as you can during this short 4 months since it will all go by very fast!
