What did you like best about your internship/co-op? What type of work were you doing?

In this co-op, I enjoyed working in a new industry, allowing me to learn an abundance of new things. The ongoing learning experience at RBC is very beneficial, and will help me get a career post-graduation. I enjoyed working as a client advisor, as I was able to interact with many new people and gain relationships.

What did you like least about your internship/co-op?

My least favorite thing about this co-op is that I was unable to work at different branches. Although I liked working downtown, it would have been a great experience to experience different branches and locations.

Throughout my co-op, my managers were extremely helpful in my career development. Although we had a period with my branch manager, our community manager was able to support me and other staff in ensuring that we were successful.

RBC fosters an environment of friendly, happy, helpful employees. My mentors did an excellent job in training me, and were always available for questions. The culture is very easy going, which is extremely motivating. This type of work environment is where I thrive the most.

Advice to future interns applying to this company? 

RBC in an amazing company to work for. The organizational culture is extremely welcoming, and has taught me an abundance of new skills. The employees at RBC are all supportive and empowering, which has made my experience here more than wonderful. My advice to any new interns is to find an experienced mentor to guide you through your training. Although it can be intimidating in the beginning, you have staff around you to support and help you.
