Worked on Large Construction Mechanical projects in Revit; used consultant drawings to implement sheet metal, plumbing, and piping layouts. Finished layouts with appropriate annotations, legends, and coordinated with team lead on updating drawings with the feedback received from site. Best part was working on multiple sub-disciplines and gaining exposure to the industry with lots of helpful advice received from coworkers when needed.
Often multiple projects have similar designs, standards, and codes based on the building type. Within the project floor layouts usually become typical and thus the work can become repetitive/less challenging or engaging..
Team lead filled this role.
More regular feedback about the quality of work would be useful for future coops (once a month meeting ~ 30 minutes).
Mostly an open floor concept (no cubical for coops). Free to take a break/grab coffee and discuss with coworkers - friendly environment.
Definitely a great coop opportunity for Electrical/HVAC/Construction industry exposure.
Be open to learning through small tasks and then ask for more challenging work.
