The amount of skills you get that are transferrable to any business is amazing. You get a broad sense of customer service, management, sales, some finance, etc. Its a great internship that lets you experience different types of business sectors, which is what an internship is for.
The harder you work, the faster you'll move up. Your sales statistics get ranked within the branch and the group, and if you're competitive it will be great for you.
The hours are very long depending on your branch. My branch I was working 11 hour days, 4-5 days per week. Although most internships you work a lot so it does not differ much from other internships. One nice thing about this year was they implemented Wednesday's off for interns which allows you to enjoy your summer more.
Weekly meetings going over goals
Asking questions is recommended
Make sure to ease new hires into the selling process. I was lucky enough to shadow my manager for the first couple of days as they rented cars, and it really helped me when I got to rent solo.
great family atmosphere, branch dinners/happy hours normally at least once per month
Great family atmosphere, everyone has fun in the office & is social outside
Do much more than get coffee and be someones assistant like some internships
If you are competitive and okay working some overtime, you'll get rewarded and have a great experience. Work hard on your selling and try to get familiar with the business and you'll do great.
