I really enjoyed the sales aspect of the job. This was my first sales position and it gave me a good understanding of how to effectively communicate the benefits of our products with customers. I also enjoyed driving in all of the new rental vehicles, as well as travelling for training/volunteering.
Non-busy days can go by extremely slowly, and it seems like there is lots of time spent waiting for phone calls and customers. Additionally, it seems like there is a disconnect or a lack of communication between branch employees and head office workers. This seems to frequently cause frantic last minute plans, and a misuse of company resources.
My branch manager was extremely helpful with any questions or problems that I encountered. Day to day branch operations seemed to run smoothly with few issues. Made me feel very comfortable on my introduction day, eased me into the job which made it easy to feel comfortable helping around office.
Socially, the office environment is very relaxed. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Be competitive in regards to the matrix, and befriend the other interns in your group. Sales competitions against the other interns/employees makes the job far more interesting, and the company rewards its employees for their success.
