What did you like best about your internship/co-op? What type of work were you doing?

I like the hands on experience with the camera work. I wasn't sitting on the sidelines watching, I was doing the work. Great variety in different jobs I did during the summer. I did camera work, traffic cameras, logged, edited & ingested video cards, remote shoots, MCM, setting up microphones, stage lights, running scripts and assisted news anchors when necessary with various tasks. I carried out other miscellaneous tasks related to the television news shows when needed. The staff that I worked with were fantastic to work with, great teachers, taught me a lot and very willing to share their expertise and experiences with me to help me learn. My manger was always making sure I had new jobs, different experiences to do which I really appreciated.

Feedback to management about the internship/co-op program:

I really enjoyed my internship, it was a great learning experience for me. Management was great, always able to get a hold of them, ask questions. They always made sure I was looked after. I always new what I was doing, where I was going or what department I was working in as it would change. Working in the various departments of the news was really good, let me see different aspects of the television broadcast and different roles that play out within the daily news broadcast.

Social experience

Like family
How often were there opportunities to participate in social activities with your colleagues?

Describe the office environment/culture.

The work environment was great!! Everyone gets along, very chill and relaxed but when the work needs to get done, it gets done. News can be quiet or it can go to the extremes, you never know what is going to happen. Even when it was really busy, it was still a great atmosphere and everyone worked hard. Going on the road for remote shoots with the guys was also a great learning experience. Great group of people to work with for my 3 month internship.
