The people I worked with and doing job cost tracking and analysis was the best part of my internship. I did site orientations, filing and tracking invoices, auditing job costs, creating productivity reports, doing time sheets and expense reports. Most of the work I did was related to the more financial and documentation/paperwork side of the job.
Long daily commute and location were not ideal, but I knew there was a chance of this coming in.
Was very busy most of the time, but still found time to answer questions and help when needed
Managers treated me with respect and were always available to answer my questions and teach me when needed. All were good communicators, understanding, and friendly. They did not micro manage at all and gave me enough work that was not overwhelming but enough to keep me busy.
Very good social environment. Every one treats you fairly and with respect. Environment was positive despite some stressful periods. A good sense of humor is recommended.
Having Previous construction experience is recommenced. Talk about culture and fit. Work hard, use common sense, be friendly, have a good sense of humor, and ask questions.
