The best thing about working at BGC was working with friendly, helpful, and extremely well-educated professionals. I was working in geotechnical hazard assessment for oil and gas clients - a challenging and demanding industry - and I felt supported and was able to learn effectively.
There were too many spider encounters while working in the field (Northern Alberta).
BGC is a supportive environment. Employees get along and work together well, and the hierarchical structure is relatively flat. Seniors and principals are very willing to share their expertise with juniors for their development and the overall good of the company.
I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with coworkers during my time at BGC. Interactions inside and outside the office were positive and fun.
Keep an open mind and be willing to learn from the very qualified professionals at all levels. Be flexible with your short and long term schedule so that you can make the most of opportunities for travel & development.
