What I liked most was that the staff was helpful, supportive and gave constructive criticism in a way that was motivating and enriching; all while doing their job. I helped in every aspect, escorting clients to and from the washroom, and to and from the day care program when they would arrive on site. I would help decorate the space, depending on the seasons and holidays. I would help clients where needed, so that they can also participate in the activities at their own pace.
some days it would be over stimulating.
The culture here is professional, respectful, accepting and kind. Majority of people acknowledge one another and are friendly. As someone who is non-binary, I have been referred to in male pronouns but two of my colleagues, including my Supervisor, have corrected others (and still do), and advocated on my behalf in moments that the behaviour continues. I feel embraced and safe. In fairness to an honest review, there are moments when the environment feels heavy and uncomfortable. Different personalities are inevitable, and can still put a damper on the day.
